Westinghouse 3000 HP Induction Motor & Lufkin Gearbox N1600C 3.72:1 Ratio

This lot consists of a large industrial centrifugal compressor system including a Westinghouse induction motor and a Lufkin gearbox. The Westinghouse induction motor is rated at 3000 HP, 4000 volts, 60 Hz, and 1787 RPM with a service factor of 1.0, frame CS-5B56, serial 1S84P852. This motor was rebuilt by Integrated Power Services (IPS) as of 5-12-2020 with rewind, shaft work, and bearing replacement. The motor features PowerSeal insulation protection. The Lufkin gearbox, model N1600C, serial 298, has a ratio of 3.721:1 with input RPM of 1780, a service factor of 1.84, and a service rating of 2448 HP. The gearbox was rebuilt by IPS on 8-30-2015 with rewind, conversion, bearing replacements, shaft and mechanical work. The overall system includes various pipes, gauges, and instrumentation. The equipment shows surface rust and paint wear consistent with prior industrial use, but components are intact and assembled on concrete foundations.
